We are always on the lookout for a good BBQ place here in Utah. We have found three that we really like. My husband is from Texas so he knows BBQ and he said the closest to a true BBQ place here in Utah is BamBams but he enjoys all three of these restaurants. I can’t wait to travel to Texas and see the competition out there but for now I will be happy with what we have to choose from in Utah.
Bam Bam's BBQ: Bam Bams is our absolute favorite BBQ here in Utah. Luckily and unfortunately, it is about a 45-minute drive from where we live. We would be there every day if we lived closer so that is why it's lucky but it is a bummer to live so far. We have had a lot of fun drives to pick this up though. We love their brisket the best. My husband will get their ribs and then brisket while I either get the brisket or the pulled pork. We don’t get the sides now a days but we use to when we first started going. They put goldfish crackers on top of their Mac and Cheese and then they have beans or chips as well. They also have Big Red soda sometimes which is Greg’s favorite! Ah I drool just when I talk about the brisket. Now I’m going to have to take a trip down there just from writing this.
Five-Star BBQ: Five-Star is another BBQ spot that is about 45 minutes away but it is so good we make a drive out there for this one too. BamBams usually wins though if we make the drive but I prefer the sides at this restaurant the best. They have the best beans and mac and cheese here. I also like that they give you corn bread and garlic toast which were both so good. We like to get the family size and just share and then have leftovers for lunch the next day.
R&R BBQ: R&R have built so many restaurants over just the last few years! When we first started going it was only downtown Salt Lake but now they have quite a few spots which we love! I really like their pulled pork. I like it on the sandwiches and the salads too. Greg likes their ribs as well as the brisket here. The hush puppies and fries are my favorites for the sides. They are always busy and have such a fun vibe in the restaurant.
What BBQ places do you love here in Utah or in your state?
