My husband had a work trip in Colorado a few months ago. When I found out we were staying in Centennial, Colorado I did some research and could not find very much about what to do in Centennial. I tried to pay attention to what was around the city while I was there. Hopefully, this gives you some fun ideas to do when you visit Centennial too.
Real De Minas: This was one of our favorite food places in Colorado. It was a cute place, quick service and the food was awesome. I had the shredded beef enchiladas and my husband had a chicken enchilada, chimichanga and a beef taco for a pick three plate. They started out with salsa, bean dip and chips. Let me tell you that bean dip was the greatest thing ever. We almost went there again just for the bean dip.
Panera: I have only had Panera in Minnesota so I was very excited that we were right by one. I got the BBQ chicken salad with a side of bread and an orange scone. It tasted just like it used to when I had eaten there before. Just as good as I remembered it! I love the atmosphere there.
Good Times: this was a cute little walk-up fast-food place that had burgers, fries and shakes. I just got fries and a heath Caramel crunch shake. Their fries had the yummiest seasoning on them and the shake was pretty good itself. There was outside seating and a drive thru as well.
Broncos Practice Facility: (in Englewood) this is only a few minutes away from where we were staying in Centennial. They have an area where you can pull into the parking lot and see the building. You really can’t see anything else than that, it was still fun to get a picture and just say we had been there.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Denver Colorado Temple: The temple was only fifteen minutes from where we stayed but was still in Centennial. It is pretty little but beautiful. They have a big waterfall out front and lots of flowers that were in full bloom and vibrant. There are benches around the temple even behind it so you can walk around the grounds as well.
Park Meadows Mall and Outside Shops: (Lone City but only a few miles away) We went to this shopping center a few different times. They have outdoor separated shops and then a mall too. They have a Ross, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and even a Costco right there. The mall is pretty big and had some unique stores like an amazon outlet and a retro store with lots of old clothing styles. Lots of good restaurants around as well.
The Ice Cream Farm: The Ice Cream Farm was located right outside of the mall. It shared a location with a bbq place called Gque BBQ. We did end up going back the next day for the bbq but wasn't too impressed with it. The ice cream is definitely worth going for though. The cones were our favorite. You can get them covered in sprinkles, chocolate or plain. They have quite a few ice cream flavors and the ones we tried were all good. The stores decor was adorable and made it fun for pictures.
Berry Blendz: Berry Blends was a smoothie place inside the mall with the food court. It was a really good smoothie and was pretty busy. They had mostly normal food options in the food court so definitely a good spot to be if you want food and shopping at the same time.
Castle Rock, Colorado:
This is about a half hour drive from Centennial. We were told by locals to check these spots out so we made the drive and are so glad we did. It was a beautiful area and had a lot of cool things to do.
Mini Incline: We were so interested in this because we love hiking and doing out outdoors kind of things. It is a 200-step staircase up a side of a hill that gets you to the top to overlook the city. They also had ziplining, parks and other things to do in the area. A lot of people were going up and down this for exercise while we were there. It definitely gets your heart pumping but the view at the top is worth it. So pretty!
Castle Rock Mountain: We didn’t stop here but you can see it from the freeway really well. It really looks like a castle sitting on a mountain/hill. I looked it up and it looks like you can hike up to the rock. Next time we are there I want to do it! It was neat to see while we were driving into the city.
Outlets at Castle Rock: This outlet mall was pretty good in size and was very well kept. Our favorite store was a Colorado souvenir shop that had everything you needed branded Colorado. Greg even found a neat pair of sunglasses there. They had all the popular known stores like Ralph Lauren, Gap, AƩropostale, and others.
Smoothie King: There were lots of food options in the area in Castle Rock. Smoothie King was a new smoothie shop for us so we ended up going a few times while we were in Colorado. They had a few locations near where we stayed and out in Castle Rock as well.
Aurora, Colorado:
This was only about 10-15 minutes away from our hotel in Centennial Co. We were super excited that Aurora was so close to us. The morning traffic to Aurora wasn't bad at all and then in the afternoon as well was just fine. These two spots were a must for us to stop by.
Fazoli's: Both Greg and I had grown up near a Fazoli's. The location in my city closed and Greg moved away from his location. We were pretty excited when we found one near us in Colorado. We had a full-on dinner meal for less than twenty bucks and were stuffed. Oh, how I have missed those breadsticks as well!
Shipley Do-Nuts & Kolaches: I have never been to Shipleys, but my husband had grown up going here. We ended up here two mornings in a row because it is that good. The donuts were so soft, sweet and they had so many options. I had never had a cream filled maple bar and I definitely will miss those. The kolaches were super good too. Those are my husband's favorites. We had the sausage and cheese ones and one without cheese as well.
Centennial, Colorado had a lot of shopping centers, restaurants and fun things to do. They do have a movie theater, Top Golf, and is located in a good spot to get to downtown or surrounding cities with even more fun things to do.
