What to do at Sundance in Utah!

This year for my birthday we adventured out to Sundance. I had heard it is beautiful up there and it truly is! There is a pond in one area and a stream that runs through the buildings and walkways. They have stores, an art studio, restaurants and lots of things to do outdoors. The drive to Sundance is beautiful and super easy to get to. Parking was free here and don't forget to get a picture with the Sundance Rock sign at the entrance!

Ski Lift: We rode the 45-minute ski lift to the top of the mountain. When you get to the top there is a restaurant with some outdoor seating and areas to view the mountains. The ski ride was smooth and there is a halfway point where you can turn back around if you don’t want to go the full way. It was $22.00 per person to ride the ski lift. There are hiking trails that you can hike from the ski lift stops as well.

Bear Claw: Bear Claw restaurant is at the top of the mountain. The ski lift takes you up to it. We got their nachos. There was plenty to share and the flavors were so good. It is a little pricey but the view and the food were worth it. They had outdoor seating where you can see both sides of the mountains and it was beautiful. It did get a little chilly from the wind at the top so bring a jacket if you're not there in the middle of the summer.

Fire Place: This was my favorite spot at Sundance. They have a super large fire pit that sits in the middle of the community area. You have views of the ski lift and mountains and then behind it is the streams and trees. There was lots of seating so we had multiple people sitting with us and it was just fine

Sundance Deli: This is a little shop with drinks, treats and sandwiches. We got hot drinks to drink on our ride on the ski lift. The pumpkin steamer there was super good. They had all sorts of snacks and suckers to choose from.

Shops: They have a few different shops to walk through. There is a souvenir shop with super fancy clothing, jewelry, and knickknacks. They have an art studio where you can make or buy jewelry, ceramics and leather items. They have local artists paintings you can buy and homemade soaps. Through one of the buildings they have picture frames of all the history of Sundance. It was really neat to walk through and see all the famous people that had done work there and to read the stories of the people. There are a few restaurants there too that looked super fancy and yummy There is an outdoor clothing and bike shop too!

Hiking: We walked through Sundance and found a part of the Stewart Falls hike. It was a short hike but we were able to see the stream and we went in September so the leaves had started to turn for autumn. It was beautiful. There are a few different hikes you can go on. If you drive past Sundance just a ways you hit the Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest where there is the actual Stewart Falls hiking trail and Mount Timpanogos hiking trail.

Alpine Loop Drive: If you pass by Sundance and keep driving it takes you through a beautiful loop of the mountains. It is a smooth drive and is beautiful. When we went it had started to get colder and the leaves were changing and the wildlife was out and about. We saw a few moose and deer while we were there. I hear it does get really packed during the fall with the leaves changing so be prepared for that during that season.

They have a zip line course that you could do. There are a few restaurants there that we didn't get to try yet but we want to go back up and do that. The resort looked really nice and they even have a spa. They have events throughout the year and skiing in the winter. It is a peaceful place to go walk around and have plenty of fun things to do.
