My husband and I went on a one day road trip to Rexburg, Idaho. My little sister is a college student up there at BYU-I. She was our little tour guide of the city and of the schools campus. She has found some really cute and fun places to eat and things to do there. Here are the things we got to experience.
Red Rabbit Grill: This is a super cute restaurant. They have a good selection of food options. We all went for the burgers and chicken sandwiches. We each got a different fry: regular, sweet potato and rosemary fries. They actually were all good. They have lots of flavors of lemonades and usually are brought out in a mason jar but the day we went they were just in normal glasses. They have a bucket full of get to you know you questions which made the conversation really fun and we learned a lot of new things about each other.
Mrs. Powell's Bakery: This is another cute little shop in Rexburg. They have cinnamon rolls with all different flavors of frosting, cookies and breads. The cinnamon rolls were yummy. I tried the maple flavor and my husband got the caramel nut roll. If you sign up with your phone number they give you a free cookie. We got a sugar cookie, which was so yummy. It is old fashioned but delicious.
BYU-Idaho Campus: We took a walking tour of campus from my sister who knew every single building and all the good spots for fun pics. It does get pretty chilly so make sure to bundle up during the winter. We walked through a couple of the buildings but mostly outside around the buildings. We saw the gardens just through the back window since they were closed while we were there. They have a Chick-Fil-A in the food court which seemed pretty popular. The bookstore has a full wall of clearance and then anything you can think of to buy.
Rexburg Idaho Temple: The temple is walking distance from the college campus. The grounds were large and had plenty of seating. The temple is pretty all around but you have to see it from the front to get the whole perspective. If you stand by the sign in the front you can get the whole temple in your picture. There is a big open field across from the front of the temple that was beautiful as well!
Cocoa Bean Cupcakes: This is a cute little bakery right near campus. It is located in a food court type style building. You can get pizza and Cafe Rio as well. The cupcakes were all so cute and all looked delicious. They have cookies and cake pops and my sister said the best hot chocolate. We just went for the cupcakes this time but next time I want to try the other sweets too! The cake is really good on the cupcakes but they do come with very sweet and a lot of frosting. I like it that way but it was a little much for my husband.
What are your favorite things to do and eat in Idaho?
