My husband and I like to get up early on Saturday mornings and go hike and then grab breakfast when we are done. We have tried a handful of breakfast spots and have found these ones to be our favorites! Also check out my Top 4 Acai Bowls in Utah blog to see another breakfast option as well!
Penny Ann's Café:
There are a few locations now here in Utah but the Salt Lake City location is the cutest. It is older but a fun café feel kind of place. We have sat in the booths, the free-standing tables and the bar and every spot is just as good as the other. It usually is super busy so plan on a wait no matter how early you get up and go. I love their waffles with bananas and cream and I usually get a side of bacon which is perfect. My husband likes the chicken in a waffle. The food is good and the atmosphere is so fun so it just makes it a fun breakfast spot.
This café has a good morning vibe. It is a very small restaurant but so cute. Every time we have gone it's been busy but not a horrible wait time. The food is super yummy. We really like their potatoes and bacon the best. You get a good amount of food for a really good price.
Pig and a Jelly Jar
You know a breakfast spot is good when there is a wait and so far, all of our favorite breakfast places do have waits but well worth it. I tried something I don’t normally get for breakfast at this restaurant because it looked so good on someone's plate. I got the egg and bacon crescent sandwich and it was way good! My husband got the chicken in a waffle and said it was one of the best he’s had. The restaurant was a good vibe and overall a good experience.
If you are wanting more of a sweeter breakfast then Waffle Love is for you! I love their biscoff spread and they always have good fresh fruit. My husband gets his with no spreads but all the fruits they have. Oh, and they have yummy whipped cream. Another cute place to go and people watch at.
I love the bottomless French toast at Kneaders. Their syrup is caramelly and so good, I literally could drink it. They use their cinnamon bread which is yummy on its own, but making it into French toast is even better. When my husband and I started dating this was our go to for breakfast a lot and we still love it. They have good smoothies, cinnamon rolls, steamers, and breakfast sandwiches too.
My Grandma's House
I'm going to add in a sneaky 6th breakfast spot but it won't help any of us. It is just to brag that going to my grandmas for breakfast was probably the best out of all of these. She would make waffles and bacon or sausage anytime we slept over or visited early enough in the morning. Sadly, she has passed away but I will never forget the yummy breakfast memories at her home.
What are your favorite breakfast spots?
