Fall is my most favorite season for food. I love the pumpkin flavored every things, the warm drinks, Apple Cider flavored treats, and all the fall soups. I am getting very excited for the season to start here in Utah. There are lots of yummy treats and foods to get during this time. Here is a list of my favorite fall foods and where to find them in Utah.
Kneaders: If you are wanting the best Pumpkin Steamer then Kneaders is the spot for you! It is my most favorite restaurant/bakery for Steamers, Pumpkin Bread, and decorated Sugar Cookies. They have a lot of holiday treats. Their bread and soups are really good, too. The store sales holiday décor and items in the store which is really fun to go look at.
Trader Joes: All things pumpkin flavored can be found at Trader Joe's. It isn't fall until I've walked through a Trader Joe's store looking for all the fall items. I love the Pumpkin Flavored Joe-Joes, Pumpkin face mask, all the chip options, and the Apple Cider Donuts. There are pumpkins out front through the season, beautiful flowers, skin care, and of course all the foods you could ever think of to help you feel in the fall mood.
Starbucks: I know Starbucks is an obvious one for a sweet fall drink, but I have to include it because it's one of our go-to spots. White hot chocolate, Pumpkin steamers, and the Frappuccino's are my favorite. They always come out with new flavors for the seasons which are really fun to try each year. They use to have the best pumpkin scone but the new version doesn't look the same so I have not gotten it since. I'll have to give it a try this year!
Rowley's Red Barn: Apple Cider floats, drinks, and donuts are the best at Rowley's Red Barn. We drive about an hour to get to this barn and it is worth every second. They have an Apple Cider float that is delicious. I always get the caramel and vanilla ice cream in mine. Ahh my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The donuts are made fresh in house and are so good. We always buy extra and take them home and warm them up for a snack later. There are lots of treats, fresh foods from the farm, and even some toys to shop for in the store.
Zupas: Enchilada soup and cream of cauliflower soups are my favorite thing to get from Zupas on a rainy fall day. They have locations all over Utah which makes it very assessable wherever you live. I like their salads too, but that is more of a warm summer day food for me. It's pretty cool that your meal comes with a roll and a chocolate covered strawberry.
Café Rio: Tortilla soup at Café Rio is my absolute favorite soup out of anywhere you can get soups. The broth is flavored so good, the chips to add in are the perfect crunch, and it comes with a tortilla too. This is an affordable soup option and really is so good. We always get this on a sick day or on a chilly cold day.
Krispy Kreme: Can we just say don't pass up a pumpkin spice flavored donut at Krispy Kreme. Every season they have fall themed donuts for a couple of months. This year, already they have the pumpkin spice donuts. I wish it was a little closer to October for pumpkin spice, but they do have cute Halloween donuts for that month. The original glazed donut is always a good option too. Get their app so you don't have to pay full price. They do a lot of promotions during the month so make sure to check that out.
Waffle Love: Last year, I discovered a pumpkin waffle at Waffle Love. How have I not known this? I love the Biscoff spread with bananas and whipped cream, but the Pumpkin is now number one favorite of mine. The whipped cream is what is flavored with pumpkin spice with normal waffle and caramel drizzle. This would be the one thing I would say to try out of anything on this list.
Chick-Fil-A: The Autumn Spice Shake was new last year at Chick-Fil-A, I'm guessing it will be around again this year. It had a perfect amount of sweetness to the shake, but also lots of spices. It really did taste like fall in a shake form. There are crunchy cookie pieces which was the best part.
Flake Pie Co: Flake Pie Co is a cute little pie shop. We got a three count box of mini pies. My husband and I both loved the peach pie. It had the yummiest crunchy topping to the pie with really good fall flavors. We got the peanut butter cream pie and a berry pie which were both good as well. This would be a good spot for Thanksgiving to get all different types of pies to try.
The Chocolate Covered Wagon: If you are looking for a good caramel apple this time of the year then try one at The Chocolate Covered Wagon at Gardner Village. It might just be the best apple since you get to walk through the cutest decorated village during the fall. I am one for the experience along with the food type of person so I think that's why I really enjoyed this one. The store has tons of chocolates to choose from along with fudge and bagged candies.
Crumbl Cookies: I love festive type treats and Crumbl does it well with their flavors during the Fall Season. My favorite cookie they have done is the Circus Animal Cookies and during the fall season they make it fall colors. They have some good pumpkin flavored cookies as well. They do change flavors every week so take a look at their website to find the ones you would like best.Beans and Brews: I had only ever had hot pumpkin drinks until I tried a Pumpkin Frappuccino at Beans and Brews this year. It was so good! I usually avoid this coffee shop because they have a lot of premixed drinks already with coffee so it is hard to get non coffee drinks but this one was an option and I loved it! The flavor wasn't too strong, it was milky, and tasted good in a cold drink. I will be going back for a few more of these while we still have some hot days in Utah.
Old Grist Mill: My friend from work went to Logan and visited the Old Grist Mill. She brought back some of their pumpkin chocolate chip bread to try. It was very moist and had a good texture and plenty of chocolate chips in it. Sometimes pumpkin breads have little gritty spots and this one didn't have any. I want to go to the actual store to try some more treats and café foods.
Donut Boy: West Valley, Utah has a really good donut shop called Donut Boy. My favorite donut there is the apple pie donut, which is very fitting for a fall type treat. All of their donuts are delicious and are pretty popular in Utah.
Capriotti's: If you are craving some turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sauce during the fall you can always get a Bobby from Capriotti's Sandwich shop. You can get this any time of the year, but it definitely works for a fall type food. My husband loves getting his hot off the grill. There are lots of yummy sandwiches there as well.
Taco Time: Pumpkin Empanadas at Taco Time are the best. My mom would take us after dance to get a treat there when I was little. My husband and I just moved close to one in Utah so I stopped by for one. It brought back all the memories. I love how crispy they are and the cinnamon sugar on the out side makes them sweet. I do tend to take some of the filling out, but that's just my preference.
What are your favorite Fall type foods?
