Trader Joe's is my most favorite store to shop at in the fall time. We just moved to Kentucky where there are now Aldi stores, too! I was very excited to see what Trader Joe's had this year and to find all the new things at Aldi. I have my old favorites and then some of the new stuff on here! Come shop with me at both stores.
Trader Joe's
Trader Joe's was so busy this season. I love the hustle and bustle, but it does mean limited supply. I was hoping to try a few new items this year, but when I went they weren't out yet or not in stock. I did get a couple boxes of my favorites that they did have in stock though!
Petite Pumpkin Spice Cookies: These are first on the list because these are my all time favorite treat to get from Trader Joe's. The first bite I was not sold on them, but then I kept trying them and fell in love with them. The cookie is perfectly flavored with pumpkin and spice with a yogurt coating. I already picked up two boxes this year and it's only September!
Apple Cider Donuts: The Apple Cider Donuts from Trader Joe's are so good. They come in frozen so you can refreeze them or just eat them all before they go bad. They only last three days tops with my husband and I. We warm ours up in the microwave for a few seconds and they are perfect. The donut is a cake like donut with a coating of cinnamon and sugar. The flavor is a little apple like, but not over powering. We get a few boxes of these each year.
Ghost & Bats Chips: The cutest little chips are the ghost and bat shaped chips. They taste a little like a veggie chip, but less flavor. It is all for the looks and less for the taste on these. The bag is cute and I think kids would love them. They have the cutest little leaf tortilla chips and some pumpkin chips to pick from if the ghost chips aren't for you.
Pumpkin Bread Mix: We got the pumpkin bread mix to make some pumpkin muffins. The dough came together really well and it was easy. My oven cooked a little hot so they got a little crisp, but were still good. The pumpkin flavor is there for sure, but also not too over powering. These would be yummy to add chocolate chips in them.
Pumpkin Joe Joe's: Another one of my favorite pumpkin treats is the Pumpkin flavored Joe Joe's. I didn't love them at first, but they grew on me! The flavor is more spices than a pumpkin flavor. The middle filling is yummy. I really like these cookies! They now have a version with yogurt coating on the outsides, too. I have those on my to try list!
Caramel Apple Mochi: We live almost an hour away from Trader Joe's so these were a little melted, but they froze back up good. Six comes in a box and they are a good price. They are little bite size ice creams with caramel apple ice cream and a rice dough coating. The ice cream in the center is so good! I wish they had that in their ice cream tubs. The rice dough on the outside was not my favorite. I think they need more ice cream and a thinner coating. I have never had Mochi before, so I might just not be use to it. I have seen lots of people buying these and loving them. I would eat the ice cream all day long and maybe pickoff the coatings for me.
Sour Gummy Spooky Bats & Cats: We have tried their other seasons of their gummy candies, but this was my first year picking these ones up. The bag is adorable and all ready for a spooky season. There is sour sugar coating on the outsides and a gummy center. Let me tell you, these were so good! I liked every flavor in the bag, the sour wasn't too strong, and there was a good amount in the bag. I will be buying these year after year!
Pumpkin Spiced Joe Joe's: I was eyeing these for a few seasons and finally got some this year! I love the plain pumpkin Joe Joe's, so I had high hopes for these ones. It did not disappoint! I felt like the yogurt coating helped make the pumpkin flavor not as strong for the cookie part, which I liked! The package comes with a good amount of cookies. These will be on my buy again list.
Honeycrisp Apple Cider: If you are looking for a yummy apple cider then this ones for you! The flavor was a bit of sweetness and spice flavor, but wasn't over powering. We warmed ours up which I liked best. Trader Joe's did have a spiced apple cider option, too. I am glad we tried this and will for sure get it again.
Aldi
Aldi had a ton of fall decor to pick from and some fun different kind of fall treats. I had an eye out for a few things, but wasn't able to find most of them when I went. Hopefully, I will make it back before the season is over and find the items on my list. I did get a couple of new fall foods and loved them!
Apple Cider Donuts: I love Apple Cider donuts, so I was very excited to give Aldi donuts a try. They come with six in a package and for a good price. The texture is really good on these donuts. The apple cider flavor was the perfect amount. The only thing I missed was the sugar coating on the outside, which is what Trader Joe's has. These I would say taste more like the homemade versions we have gotten from a country store though. Very tasty, good priced, and perfect for fall!
Pumpkin Pie Caramel Clusters: These are soooo good! They have a little crisp from the graham crackers, a white chocolate coating and a pumpkin flavored caramel. The flavor of pumpkin wasn't too strong and was very tasty. The package is a little small, but it comes with a good amount of clusters in the bag. I enjoyed these a lot! Definitely will be getting more of these.
Apple Cider: Another yummy spot for apple cider is at Aldi! We bought a gallon for less than five dollars. It didn't have as much flavor as the Trader Joe's apple cider, but I really enjoyed this one. We drank ours warmed up and it tasted just like fall. I liked that you could get a gallon in this one which makes it last longer. We will be buying this one again for sure!
I was bummed to have missed out on a few new items this year, but I will keep an eye out for sure! What fall foods do you buy this time of the year?
