One of my most favorite places now a days is Buc-ee's! We found that we have one only an hour and a half away from where we live! It is most definitely worth the drive. We have gone a few times now and every time I have made sure to grab something new to try. We have a few favorites and have a whole list of things to still try. I have compiled a list of all the treats and foods we have tried from Buc-ee's. Everything we have had from there has been awesome. If you pass by one on a road trip don't hesitate to stop, it's so fun!
Kettle CornI am a Kettle Corn fanatic. At any county fair I would be the girl with the large bag of Kettle Corn. I always love trying new brands and seeing how it compares to the county fair fresh popped Kettle Corn. The Buc-ee's brand of Kettle Corn did not disappoint. The popcorn was coated perfectly! The only thing I didn't love was that they had a few cornels in the bag. Even when we checked out, the cashier said he brought one home to try and gave it to his mother and he didn't see one kernel of that bag. We had a good laugh. It almost made us grab a second bag that trip just in case. Let's just say our bag didn't last long either! Good thing we live close enough to go when we want!
Dark Chocolate Caramel
This is a new treat for my husband and I this year. We tried salted Caramels from Aldi at Christmas and have not stopped buying them since. Buc-ee's has their own brand of chocolates to choose from. They have milk or dark chocolate salted caramels, peanut butter beavers and chocolate covered nut options. We grabbed the individually wrapped Sea Salt Caramels. The caramel was just right with a little bit of chewiness and the chocolate coating was the perfect amount. These were an easy treat to grab and very affordable too! I have the Beaver chocolates on my to try list still.
Beef Jerky
The jerky is what got my husband to go back again and again. They have a large counter of all sorts of jerky flavors. We would just get a piece or two of different flavors the first two trips we went not knowing they give samples! Like every single flavor if you want samples. I was in heaven. My hand was so full of beef jerky and we hadn't even bought any yet! It made the experience so much more fun and yummy! We found that we really like the garlic, peppered and mesquite flavored ones. It is a little pricey, but all jerky is that way. They do have pre-bagged jerky throughout the store too!
Beaver Tails
My absolute favorite pastry from Buc-ee's is the Beaver tail. It is a very skinny croissant slash cinnamon roll type dessert with a drizzled frosting over the top. It really is in the shape of a beaver tail. It almost has a caramelly flavored layer along with it. It's crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I almost ate the whole thing without sharing with my husband. He had a little piece to try, but said he liked it too! It comes fresh in the little bakery area. There are cookies, muffins, and cinnamon rolls to try too!
Candied Almonds
I had seen all over that you had to try the candied almonds. My husband and I are going on eight years of getting candied almonds in the mall every Christmas. We have high expectations of these kinds of snacks. The first couple almonds we both said we didn't know if they were good or not, but the more we ate of the bag the more they grew on us. They are less sweet flavored than we are used to but have a really good crunch. I actually really enjoyed them. They get made right in front of you and sit in a warmer, so they are warm to eat right then. They also have other kinds of nuts to pick from too! This is a little bit more of a pricy treat for the amount you get, but if you like candied nuts then it's a good one to get!
Beaver Nuggets
Buc-ee's is famous for the Beaver Nuggets. I have only tried the sweet kind, but they do have savory options too. My mom and I make a version of these every year at Christmas time, but I had never seen them at a store made already. I was super excited to have my go-to Christmas treats. I do have to say they were super crunchy and had a bit of a maple flavor to them. I didn't love them at first, but they too grew on me. I felt like the bag had a good amount that lasted me a few days. There are rows of these things all over Buc-ee's. I do have the other flavors on my to try list too!
Fudge
My mom loves fudge, so we got some when she came to visit! She loved the plain fudge but didn't love the peppermint flavor. I felt like the regular fudge one was just like a classic old fudge and was good! The peppermint flavor is more of a spearmint flavoring rather than a peppermint flavor. They have tons of flavors to choose from. I would of went with the peanut butter fudge if I was getting some.
Cinnamon Roll
I have had this on my list since the first time going to Buc-ee's, so I was happy to finally get it on our last visit! They have tons of these in different spots in the store. I waited to eat mine until I was home and warmed it up which I suggest! There is the perfect amount of frosting. The dough is soft and has a good cinnamon flavor. I loved this pick!
Icee
We caved and got Icee's on our last visit! They have a wall full of all different Icee flavors to pick from. The price of these is so cheap compared to getting one at the movie theaters! We got the Raspberry and Cherry mixed and thought it was pretty like any other Icee we have had! My brothers tried the exclusive Buc-ee's flavors and drank every bit of it! It is a fun little spot to stop for a cold summer day treat!
What are your favorite things to get from Buc-ee's?
