Christmas in Bardstown, Kentucky!

Kentucky has the cutest little towns that look like they are straight out of a Hallmark movie! The towns and vibes during the holidays are magical here! We loved visiting old towns during the holiday season last year and have more on my list this year! One of my favorites we have been too though was Bardstown, Kentucky. Bardstown has everything you need for a cute little town, fun things to do, good food, and the scenery is adorable! I'll share all my favorite things about Christmas in Bardstown with you here!

Drive or Walk Main Street Bardstown- I had heard downtown Bardstown looked just like a town from a Hallmark movie and it really does! The little town has so much character with old buildings, holiday decor, and charm. There are cute little decorations throughout the main street. I always make sure to drive Main street anytime I am in town especially during the holiday season! There is easy parking, so it is fun to walk the streets too!

Town Square- There is a tree lighting ceremony at Town Square each year in Bardstown! We were out of town last year so we missed it, but I am imagining a Hallmark tree lighting ceremony. We did go see the Christmas tree at the town square and it was super cute. There are lots of little decorations around the building too. You are able to walk right up to the tree and take pictures if you'd like!

Fresh Coffee, Pastries and More- There is a super cute little coffee shop right on main street in Bardstown. This would be a perfect little stop during the cold holiday days while you are admiring the beauty of the town. It never hurts to warm up to a yummy hot chocolate or hot drink! I have just tried their pumpkin steamers from here so far, so I am excited to go try some peppermint flavored drinks this season! They do have some delicious looking desserts! I tried their cinnamon roll which is a bit dry, but has really good frosting!

Main Street Boutiques- I think Bardstown main street has some of the best little boutique type shops. There are quite a few shops and they all have such fun items. We loved the Hurst Drug Store right on the corner for old time candy and Bardstown merchandise. Window shopping is really fun there too. They have great displays in the old time window fronts and of course lots of cool things inside too!

Donuts at Hadorn'sDonuts are always so much better at the holiday seasons! Hadorn's have all the Christmas feels in Bardstown. Just off of the Main Street road is the cutest old time bakery. It is one of my favorite places to go in Bardstown. The donuts are always fresh and so soft. Our favorite is the donut holes from Hadorn's. They have cute holiday cookies and yummy cinnamon rolls too!

Stephen Foster Home- Anytime I have researched holidays in Kentucky, the Stephen Foster Home always pops up as a must see. There is a lot of history in Bardstown, so this is a neat spot to stop. During the Christmas season the home is decorated inside and out. You can book a tour to see the inside of the home or walk the grounds anytime of the year. This is on my list of places to see this season.

Ice Cream Cones at Thompson's Food Mart- If you are in Bardstown, then you have to stop at Thompson's Food Mart for a soft serve ice cream cone. There are eight different flavors of ice cream. It is self serve so you can test your skills at serving up a cone! The banana flavor is the absolute best! I know it isn't necessarily a Christmas treat, but it is a Bardstown staple!

Deez Beanz for a Holiday Drink- There is a cute little drive through coffee shop in Bardstown. I have had their pumpkin steamers from there, but they have any flavor you can think of! It is a simple little spot, but perfect for a warm holiday drink while in Bardstown.

Polar Express Dinner Train- We haven't gone on the dinner train yet, but we see the train on the weekends! There are dinners all year round, but they do have a Polar Express Dinner Train experience during the holidays. Santa Claus is there and rides on the train with you! You get a three course meal and a trip through Kentucky. It seems super fun and a great outing for kids!

Walmart Dollar Spot- My favorite Christmas activity last year was to go search the holiday items at the Walmart Dollar spot. They had the cutest decorations, kids activities, and little stocking stuffers. The Bardstown location had a great stock on the items and lots of cute things to pick from. Don't forget to get the yummy Peppermint Kisses while you are at the store!

Kroger- I have Kroger on my list this year to go get the Egg Nog Blue Bell ice cream! Blue Bell ice cream was new for me when we moved to Kentucky. It is super creamy and they have lots of holiday flavors to pick from! We have tried quite a few flavors and have liked them all, but there are still quite a few to try too! There is a Starbucks in the Bardstown Kroger so a holiday Frappuccino might be on the list as well!

Christmas Shopping at Marshall's- I always wondered why this Marshall's was always so busy when I'd go and it's because there are only two locations in the Louisville area! Marshall's is one of my favorite places to shop. We find all of our house items, clothes, socks, shoes, and face masks from there. There is always adorable house decor options, but especially for the holidays! This location is always stocked and has a great set up!

Bardstown Burger- I first tried Bardstown Burger last Christmas season for my work Christmas lunch! There are two locations, but I went to the one on main street. The storefront is super cute and located in the perfect spot along main street. I got the Bardstown burger which has bacon, mushrooms, cheese and their special sauce. It was super juicy and flavorful. This is a great place to stop for lunch if you are Christmas shopping or enjoying the holiday decorations in downtown Bardstown.
