Brunch in Kentucky!

Brunch in Kentucky is a big thing! We have had some really yummy breakfast/brunch spots in Kentucky so far! The food scene in Kentucky is so much better than I imagined before moving here. There are so many beautiful restaurants and the food has so much flavor, variety, and just a lot of yummy options! We have really enjoyed our breakfast and brunch food spots here!

Naive

This one surprised us! We put off going here for a long time, but we were so happy we finally made it! The restaurant is adorable! So sleek, modern, hip and elegant. It felt so fancy, but very inviting and cozy. They open either at 10:00am on weekends or 11:00am on weekdays. I got the breakfast sandwich with potatoes on the side. The flavors were so good and those potatoes were the best! My husband got the steak and eggs and said it was okay. He got a coffee to go that he said was really good. I got a cinnamon roll with citrus frosting to go and really like that! They are another place where they intend for you to get multiple plates and share with the table. We felt like what we got was plenty for the two of us though! I would go here for the aesthetics and feelings you get int he restaurant over the actual food!

First Watch

We love First Watch. They are in Utah too, so we were so excited to see them all over Kentucky! The restaurants are so fancy and fun. They are open at 7:00am so you can hit this for breakfast hours too or if you don't want to wait for brunch! I love their potatoes and waffles there. My husband loves the potatoes there too! They have really good bacon too! There are always fun things happening like Acai Bowls or a fun new drink that pop up on their menu. It is one of our favorite brunch spots to go to!

Wild Eggs

Wild Eggs is one of my favorite brunch spots in Kentucky! They have quite a few locations throughout the state. They are open super early and have deals if you get there for the early bird hours, but brunch works too! There is so much on their menu and they have seasonal plates as well. We have tried a bunch of different foods off of their menu. Our favorite item to get is the Mad Platter, it comes with eggs, bacon or sausage, potatoes, muffins, and pancakes. It is so filling and so much food! I love the pumpkin pancakes in the fall time! We like the cinnamon roll with light frosting! It has a crunchy layer of sugar on the bottom and the breading is so soft and yummy. We love their potatoes too! This is the most affordable spot for brunch and the most food you get!

Morning Fork

I loved the vibe at Morning Fork. I didn't know when going there, but they are a small plate type restaurant. They intend for you to get a few different dishes to share at the table. I just got a cinnamon roll when I went. It was pretty good! I liked the breading and the frosting to bread ratio was just right! It is very sweet, so I suggest this as a treat or an after breakfast food snack. My husband loves their biscuits and gravy. The whole restaurant is decorated with forks and has a really fun atmosphere. We got there super early thinking there would be a line and there was not! The restaurant was super quiet and slow paced, but I bet the brunch hours it is hopping like all the other restaurants in Kentucky.

Con Huevos

There are a couple different locations for Con Huevos, but if you can go to the Norton Commons location, I would say this is the best one. It is located in the cutest little main street with lots of other food spots and boutiques. The restaurant is modern, adorable, and a great vibe. We stopped for brunch and really enjoyed it! I got the Tres Leches Pancakes which were so good with the Tres Leches sauce all over it. No need for syrup for those yummy pancakes! My husband got the Dulce De Leche French Toast. The breading was a brioche bread that was light and fluffy. The caramel topping wasn't too sweet, but tasted yummy! We got a plate of the Chorizo and Egg Street tacos to share. The toppings that came on it are what made it so good! It had little potato chip sticks, avocado, a spicy sauce, cheese and cilantro. We will be dreaming of those tacos forever now! This will be a regular spot for us!

Highland Morning

We saw this restaurant when we went to Quill's and put it on our list! We finally went and tried it and it was really good! The restaurant isn't super fancy, but it did remind me of an old-time diner type style. We went during the fall menu, so I tried the Pumpkin French Toast with cinnamon apples on top. It was really good! The potatoes were seasoned really well which I like! They said they have award winning gravy, so my husband got the biscuit and gravy omelet. The gravy was so good! It was so creamy and had really good flavor. I will be getting biscuits and gravy every time I go there!

Blue Dog Bakery and Cafe

We haven't sat down and ordered off of the brunch menu at Blue Dog Bakery Cafe, but we have picked up their pastries a handful of times. The cafe part looks super cute and they have a patio for the summer months that would be so fun to sit at for brunch. We love their pastries. We get the Morning Glory Muffin, Blueberry Muffins and the Maple Cinnamon Pecan Rolls the most. I have tried their croissants, baguettes, and the Snow Day cookie and have really enjoyed them all! I want to dine in next time and order off of their actual menu too!

Biscuit Belly

We have heard so many good things about Biscuit Belly and we were able to finally go and try it! The restaurant theme is adorable with quotes and lots of modern decor. You order at the counter and then sit which makes this a quick way to dine in. I tried the mushroom gravy over a biscuit and my husband got the sausage gravy on a biscuit. The gravies were both seasoned really well and were creamy. The biscuits are a doughy, large and super soft. My favorite was the Bonuts! If you sign up for the rewards, you get a free bonut basket. It comes with a really good berry dipping sauce. Biscuit Belly is a yummy brunch spot!
