Frankfort Avenue in Kentucky!

One of my favorite areas in Kentucky is the Frankfort Avenue street! It has the cutest charm and so many fun places to eat and things to do! We like to grab a drink from one of the many coffee shops in the area and then walk around! We went during the fall season this year a couple of times and loved it! The vibe of the area is so inviting and really just has so much charm and character!

The Crescent Hill Reservoir: This is a little reservoir of water with an old historic building. There is a paved walkway that surrounds the water. Two laps makes just over a mile in length. You have water views the whole way around. There is a really cool fence and the area is really pretty. We went on a sunny day and the weather was perfect, but I would assume it would be colder by the water in the colder months. There is parking spots all along the street in front of the reservoir. This a free outing so that is even better!

Bae's Bakery: I have had Bae's Bakery on my to try list since we have moved to Kentucky! We finally went and gave them a try! The storefront has a lot of character and was cute! They have their cookies, brownies and cake slices on display so you can see what the options are. I tried the Reese's in Pieces and the Baesic Chocolate Chip Cookie. I preferred just the chocolate chip cookie the best. They have a good amount of flavors and options. It was a good spot to try and I was happy to mark it off of my list!

Please and Thank You Frank: Another cute location of Please and Thank You. They have a fun vibe and each storefront is unique. We grabbed steamers and their sugar cookie at this location. They have the best Chocolate Chip cookies, but they have a few different cookie options to choose from. They have Mexican Hot Chocolate on the menu, but you can get regular hot chocolate too. They have great pumpkin steamers in the fall and a fun holiday menu for the holidays.

Morning Fork: Our first ever Frankfort Avenue experience was going to Morning Fork. We did not know we were so close to so much charm, good food, and things to do when we first went! We had breakfast at Morning Fork and thought it was such an adorable storefront. They literally have Forks as their decor. I got the cinnamon roll and thought it was good! My husband loves their biscuit and gravy bowl there. They do have small plates here, so it is a good idea to get a few things and share!

Joella's Chicken: We have only gotten take out at this location, but it was a super cute spot. Joella's Chicken has some of the best ranch dipping sauce, French fries and Fried Pickles. I prefer the chicken strips over the nuggets, but my husband loves their bone in chicken the best. You can choose your level of spice and they have good dipping sauces. The Macaroni and Cheese is one of my favorites in Kentucky too!

Halloween Street on Hillcrest: Right off of Frankfort Avenue on Hillcrest street is the famous Halloween street. Every fall the whole street is decked out in Halloween decor. We drove through it during the day, but it does seem way cooler in the night time with all the lights. I was impressed with how much was going on in each yard. You could spend all day there and still find new things you didn't see. There were quite a few people walking the neighborhood to get a closer look!

Parlour Pizza: I had heard good things about Parlour Pizza so we stopped here for lunch! We definitely ordered the wrong things this time around, but we could see the potential of how good it could be! I got the Hot Brown pizza, but I am not a fan of deli meat like that so I didn't love it. When we warmed it up for lunch the next day, I removed the things I didn't love and ended up really liking the pizza. The dough is one of my favorites we have had! They put a really good seasoning on the crust and it was cooked to perfection. My husband didn't love the flavors he chose either, but he said the crust was the best! We would go back, but just wont order the same things we got again!

Heine Brother's Coffee: Heine Brother's is a local company in Kentucky! They have all sorts of drinks to choose from. We haven't been to the Frankfort location, but we passed by and reminisced how good their drinks are. I love the Pumpkin Cream Frappuccino's from Heine Brother's. It is so creamy and has the perfect amount of flavoring in it. This year we tried the hot pumpkin steamer too and loved it just as much! The Frankfort location looks cool and has seating to go sit and enjoy your drinks.

Con Huevos: Get ready for a yummy breakfast or brunch at Con Huevos. We were pleasantly surprised at how good our meals were here. We went to a different location, but we saw that Frankfort Avenue has a super cute restaurant too! I got the Tres Leches Pancakes and will forever be addicted to having my pancakes like this. They were sweet, flavorful and a little soggy which I ended up loving! My husband got the French Toast covered in caramel sauce. Those were really good too! We shared a breakfast taco plate that we both said was the best of the meal. You can't go wrong with anything off of their menu it seems like.

Quill's Coffee: We are frequent Quill's Coffee goers, but haven't been to this location yet! We have been to every other location though and have loved all of their storefronts and of course the drinks! I love the seasonal drinks the best here. The pumpkin steamer is one of my favorites and they have a white peppermint hot chocolate that is my favorite! We will be going to this location next time for sure!

Blue Dog Bakery and Cafe: I have had this bakery on my to try list for quite sometime and I am so glad we finally made it! They have been busy every time we have driven past and the day we went! The line went quick though! All their pastries are on display, so if you don't see it then they are sold out. We got the Morning Glory Carrot cake muffin and the Kouign Amann which they described as being butter and sugar. We really enjoyed both! The Carrot Cake muffin is the best carrot flavored treat I have tried! I also tried their pumpkin steamer! We really enjoyed this bakery and will be back again!

Biscuit Belly: If you need a yummy breakfast or brunch spot to go to on Frankfurt Avenue, then Biscuit Belly is a great option. The decorations and quotes were super cute at this location. We tried the Mushroom and Sausage Gravy over biscuits and the Bonuts. The Bonuts were my favorite! They are sugary, crispy and had a yummy berry sauce to dip them in. The biscuits are doughy and soft and the gravy was flavored really well.

Heigold Facade: This is a historical spot along Frankfort Avenue. It is right across from the Ohio river and easy to get to. There is a front wall of a house in the middle of the road. It is so random, but super cool once you know what it is. This used to be a mansion of a man named Christian Heigold who was a professional stone cutter from Germany. The house used to be in a high flood zone and in a neighborhood that ended up getting demolished due to the flooding. The city moved this piece of the home to a better location to show off it's history and help preserve it. It is fun to just drive by, or you can walk up to it and see both the front and back side. The ground has flowers and trees and looks well kept.

Do you have a street like this in your state? Let me know where we should try next!
