Publix Shopping List

We had a Publix open this past year in Kentucky and have loved it! I have heard so many good things about Publix. I have fallen in love with their bakery items and their sub sandwiches. The store is very clean, well organized and has lots of variety. It is a bit pricier of a shopping experience, so we don't fully grocery shop here, but we do have a few favorite things we pick up! Here is my Publix shopping list. 

Pub Subs- If you only go to Publix for one thing, then I would suggest a Pub Sub! They have a whole deli counter of meats, cheeses, and sandwich toppings to pick from. My favorite sandwiches are the Publix Turkey and the BLT's. The hoagie bun is soft with a little crisp on the outside. The toppings are fresh and they load the sandwiches up! The best thing about these is the price! The sandwiches are around ten dollars for a 12 foot sandwich. I crave these subs all the time! Be sure to go early, they usually have a line around lunch time.             

Cake Slices- My first dessert at Publix was their vanilla cake slice with buttercream frosting. The cake is so moist and soft, while the buttercream is so velvety and smooth. I really enjoyed the cake slice and liked the fact that you could buy just one piece. They have multiple flavors to pick from. You can buy the whole cakes at the bakery as well. I have heard you can buy just the frosting as well, but I haven't asked at the Louisville Publix yet! 

Cupcakes- My husbands favorite thing to grab at Publix is the cupcakes! They only have mixed packages, so it does come with both chocolate and vanilla cupcakes. They decorate the cupcakes with the seasons, which makes it even more fun. These are moist, soft, and the perfect size of a treat. We love the buttercream frosting at Publix. It does melt in the summertime, so be prepared for that! 

Blue Bell Ice Cream- We love that they have Blue Bell Ice Cream to pick up too! For my birthday last year, we picked up cupcakes and the Neapolitan Blue Bell ice cream. It was the perfect combination! They do have different flavors to pick from. The cost is about the same as Kroger that also sells Blue Bell ice cream. Key Lime Pie- We finally tried the Key Lime Pie from Publix and really enjoyed it! It comes with whipped cream and almonds along the edges which added a really good texture and flavor. The Key Lime wasn't too strong and the crust had a good texture. You can get a small sized pie or a large pie. 

Organic Apple Juice- MARTINELLI's has a Organic Apple juice that just has apple juice in it. We started getting this for our smoothies and love it! We could only find it at Publix at first, but we have found it at Whole Foods for about two dollars cheaper. If we are in the Publix area, we would still pick this juice up! It comes in different sizes. We love the smoothie at I Love Juice that uses this apple juice too, so that is where we got the idea from. We have tried a few of the juices from Publix and they all have been good. 

Cookies- I have looked at the cookies at the bakery every time I have gone to Publix, but haven't picked one up yet! The cake gets me every time, but I have heard they have really good cookies. It looks like they have M&M, chocolate chip, sugar, Black and White, and lots of other cookies. You can grab one cookie or a container of cookies. 

Rewards- Don't forget to sign up with Publix rewards! They give you a five dollar off coupon when you first sign up. You also can see all the sales during the week and what subs are on sale on what days. It is a great way to save a little bit of money!
