Spring Trip in Utah!

We just recently took a trip back to Utah! We tried some new spots and went to lots of our old favorite spots too! The weather was perfect with a little spring time feel. Here are all the yummy foods we had and fun activities we were able to do this trip. 

Cafe Rio is a place we always go anytime we are in Utah. They have the best fast food Mexican food options in Utah. I love the pulled pork burritos, salads and quesadillas. They have the best salad dressing and enchilada sauce. The Tres Leches cake is one of my favorite desserts at Cafe Rio. 

Beans and Brews is my husbands favorite Utah coffee shop. I love their pumpkin steamers and hot chocolates. They have iced, hot or blended drink options. There are a few non-coffee options, but I have heard their coffee is awesome! 

Spaghetti Factory is one of my families old time favorite restaurants. We used to go here growing up quite often. We went all together while we were in town. I still love the bread that they serve at the beginning and the ranch dressing on their salads. We love the Mizithra Noodles the best from there. Spumoni ice cream is yummy too! 

Handles Ice Cream is a Utah favorite! The ice cream is creamy and they have a lot of good flavors to pick from! I tried their Butter Pecan this trip and thought it was good! They had whole pieces of pecans in there too! The Birthday Cake flavor is really sweet, but good and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Brownie is another one I get regularly. 

Roxberry Smoothies is our favorite smoothie spot in Utah. There are quite a few locations and they all have been great that we've been to. I love the Peachy Keen and the Tropical Twist flavors the most. My husband has tried every smoothie on the menu and gets a different one every time we go. He loves them all! It is a great cold treat! 

Fresh Donuts and Deli was a new spot for us this trip! This is a cute little donut shop in South Salt Lake on State Street. The shop is itty bitty, but the donut selection is large and they don't disappoint! The donut holes were our favorite. They have a really good glaze and they are so soft. They come warm, so eat them right away for the yummiest experience! I liked their maple and cream filled chocolate donut. 

Ensign Peak hike is a must anytime we are in Utah! It is straight up the mountain, but not too far and super quick! It gives you great views of the city and gets you a good nature fix. You pass the state capitol and are right in the downtown area, so you can hit a lot of Utah places all in the same area. We love this hike! 

City Creek Shopping Center in the middle of downtown is another cool spot to stop in Salt Lake. They have a really good food court, lots of shops and the area is beautiful. We grabbed a smoothie at the food court and walked a few shops during this trip. 

We stopped by Moochie's for some cheesesteaks. This is an iconic spot in Utah! I like the peppers and mushrooms on my cheesesteaks which add tons of flavor. The bread goes well with the meat too! We used to get a full size sandwich and warm up the leftovers for later which they still taste really good that way too. 

Fashion Place Mall is one of our go-to malls while we are in Utah. They have lots of stores and always have deals going on. They have added lots of restaurants surrounding the mall as well. We love Shake Shack, P. F. Changes and The Cheesecake Factory. 

See's Candies is a must stop for us in Utah. We don't have a store in Kentucky, so we always get a box while in town. They have the best caramels, creams and turtles. They always give you a free sample when you go in the store too. 

Everbowl is one of my favorite smoothie bowl spots in Utah! You an build your own bowl or select one off the menu. I always go with the build your own option. They have the creamiest smoothie bases. I like the coconut or vanilla base. There are lots of topping options. I love the cocoa nibs the best! 

Houston, Texas Hot Chicken was another new spot for us this trip! We grabbed chicken for dinner one night. You can select the spice of the chicken. I went with a mild flavor, but it still had quite a kick. My brother went with the second hottest flavor. It is quite the experience! They have really good crinkle cut fries for a side. 

Rita's Italian Ice in Herriman is a go-to spot for us too! The Italian ice has good flavor and texture and it tastes so yummy with the ice cream too! You can try any of the flavors before deciding. You can do no ice cream, or ice cream layers or on top and bottom. Lots of ways to order your treat here. I always go with the mango flavored Italian ice. 

Chip Cookies is right next to Rita's in Herriman, but they do have multiple locations. This is one of the first cookie shops in Utah. I love their Biscoff Chip cookie flavor the best! They are so good warmed up and are so addicting! 

Wicked Peel is a super cool pizza shop in Herriman! We picked up pizzas and breadsticks for dinner one of the nights. The garlic cheese bread sticks were my absolute favorite part of the meal! They had good flavor and texture. We got white sauce on our pizza which made that taste yummy as well!
